John G. Beckford - Governmental Affairs, Economic Development, Business Retention

John is an energetic, inclusive, and resourceful executive with over 32 years of professional management experience. John's experience and acumen ranges from economic development, community building, business recruiting and retention to county government legislative branch work.

Having served as a County Commission Chief of Staff for seven years, John is versatile when it comes to managing a wide range of issues.  In his role with County Government he served as Chief Advisor to the Commissioner, providing professional assistance and recommendations on County and constituent issues.  

 

John was responsible for planning, directing and coordinating District activities ranging from special events, speaking engagements to managing the day-to-day activities of District offices, including the supervision of professional and intern/volunteer staff. Mr. Beckford is a well rounded public speaker whose drafted numerous speeches and Board Agenda resolutions.

 

He has overseen research and planning for policy development and has an adept understanding of intergovernmental relations, advocacy and lobbying.
