ADEPT is pleased to have recently collaborated with the Florida Department of Health in Broward County to launch a billboard and pole banner campaign aimed at promoting awareness about HIV/AIDS and syphilis and encouraging testing, particularly for pregnant women living in Broward County.

The goal of this FDOH-Broward campaign is to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS and syphilis, promote testing, and reduce stigma utilizing billboards and pole banners in high-traffic areas of the county, including I-95, Sunrise Boulevard, and the Lauderhill Mall.

Despite advances in prevention and treatment, stigma and lack of awareness often prevent individuals from seeking testing and treatment for HIV/AIDS and syphilis, with severe health consequences if left untreated. For pregnant women in particular, mother-to-child transmission of either HIV or syphilis is strongly associated with stillbirth, preterm birth, low birth weight, neonatal death, and congenital infections in infants.

The billboards and pole banners direct individuals to the FDOH-Broward website for information on testing locations and resources. Through this campaign, FDOH-Broward hopes to empower individuals to take charge of their health and reduce the stigma associated with these conditions.

We look forward to continuing to assist the Florida Department of Health in Broward County in the future on tackling critical public health issues through advertising, marketing, and communications.
