Fort Lauderdale, FL. (June 1, 2015) – City of Fort Lauderdale Commissioners re-appoint Dana Pollitt to the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) Aviation Advisory Board.
Pollitt remains one of 10 advisory board members appointed by the City Commission. The Aviation Advisory Board has the power and duty to recommend to the city commission action necessary for the planning, establishment, development, construction, enlargement, improvement, maintenance, operation, regulation, protection and policing of airports owned, operated, and controlled by the city.
The Board formulates and recommends to the city commission provisions to be contained in ordinances that will govern the operation of all municipal airports and the conduct of operations on them. Any and all leases entered into by the city with private persons for the use of land and facilities at all municipal airports shall first be considered by the Aviation Advisory Board, which recommends to the City Commission approval or rejection of same.
Pollitt has more than 20 years of experience working at small, mid and large hubs as well as general aviation airports across the country. “Re-appointment to the board is an honor,” says Pollitt. “I look forward to continuing my service to the City of Fort Lauderdale and the FXE Airport,” he concluded. Pollitt also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the non-profit group Envision Uptown, Inc., a high level group of corporate and government leaders dedicated to the sustainable redevelopment of Broward County’s largest employment hub, the I-95 Cypress Creek Corridor in the immediate vicinity of the airport.
