More than 100 transportation enthusiasts attended the ‘Hip to Jive’ Transportation Celebration, which kicked off the 25th anniversary of the Sun Trolley, to engage in a discussion about the future of transportation and economic growth in Broward County. In addition to remarks from community leaders, this Great Gatsby-themed event featured a live swing band, dancers, food, drinks, and a collection of vintage vehicles.
The guest speakers were: Broward County Commissioner Chip LaMarca, Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Bruce G. Roberts, Chairman of the Broward Workshop James Donnelly and Samuel E Poole III Partner at Berger Singerman Law Firm. Robyn Chiarelli, Executive Director of the TMA, also reviewed current and future operations of the TMA’s nine routes, and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz prepared an exclusive video message.
